<p>Pyrogallol was a very popular dev for glass plates in the 1880s, <em>the </em>most popular in fact. It (the modern PMK formula) is a staining developer that emphasises sharpness and detail very subtly. It has been described as &#8216;Rodinal on steroids&#8217; so naturally I want to check it out.</p>
<p>I was lucky to track down a copy of the book since it seems to be rarer than the proverbial hen&#8217;s teeth (in the UK anyway). My copy has even been signed by Gordon. It arrived from the USA packed in an absurdly large box for such a slim volume.</p>
<p>A bag of PMK Pyro awaits too. Ideally, I just need an 8&#215;10 view camera for completeness. Oh well, I wish.</p>
<p>Now I will have to stock-up on rubber gloves since pyrogallol has some toxic qualities I <em>really </em>don&#8217;t want to explore personally.</p>
<p>My next project anyway.</p>
