More from inaccessible Greenwich. I know, I know, I live in Deptford, but like millions of visitors I use Greenwich.
Not The Thames Path
Well it is the Thames Path. Following the horizon. But it hasn’t been accessible for years because of the developers of Lovell’s Wharf. This photo was taken from the diversion. Great views huh? Puts me in mind of the holiday flats in Ibiza when I went there in 1969…
Makes me think of The Wasteland, especially since I have no faith, can’t get to the water, it’s a dry land, etc etc etc. No lilacs, but a buddleia in a dead land. Lilac coloured flowers, though these ones are suitably scorched.
What are the roots that clutch, what branches growOut of this stony rubbish? Son of man,You cannot say, or guess, for you know onlyA heap of broken images, where the sun beats,And the dead tree gives no shelter, the cricket no relief,And the dry stone no sound of water.
The Thames Path
This is the ‘stump’ of the Thames Path left by the developers. Don’t follow the sign like I’ve seen so many people do, it will take you to the show flat. On the other hand, follow the actual path and it ends in about five metres… How can this happen?
