The Doorbell Rang And There Was Light

Halfway through spooling a reel of 120 HP5+ in the bathroom darkroom and the doorbell rang. OK, no problemo, Kate will get it. Then the darkroom was a lightroom, and not in the Adobe style. The wrong switch had been flicked.

Fuck fuck fuck to the power of about 40 million cubed.

Just one of those things though. Shit happens…

I was left with some photos from the GRD III, so it hasn’t been an entirely photo free day.

I’m itching to get through the fence here but it is bristling with CCTV, dogs and guards. Not to mention the workforce seems to be at it 24/7

Somebody has managed to paint a face here though, so it must be possible. I’ll keep looking, but the whole site is being razed very quickly.

Lol, thanks. Yes, these things do happen. Reminds me how unforgiving film is. But that is also something that appeals to me too. The good news is that I was just experimenting with the Rolleiflex and I can go back tomorrow or next year and what I was photographing may still be there. Hopefully tomorrow anyway, there is an appealing abandoned suitcase…

Well, to be fair, I couldn’t see what I was doing, because it was very…

DARK

Funny that… I couldn’t do what I was seeing ‘cos it was suddenly very…
BRIGHT.

Slightly bizarre suddenly seeing what you are doing in the darkroom, never having done so before lol

The noise was terrible, though – crashings, thrashings, obscenities and a splashing sound that at the time caused me and Giz to wonder if you’d backpedalled into the latrine… must have been you manhandling your spool…
