Bright sunlight, dark shadows, contrasty lens, red filter, Tri-X and Rodinal. Asking for trouble… These turned out a little overdeveloped grrrr.
Legs
Whilst laying around this concrete pillar in the baking sunshine two guys came over and one proclaimed loudly to the other “This is a classic example of brutalist concrete architecure, possibly military in origin…”. The owner of the legs and I looked at each other and rolled our collective eyes. They may be correct. But it is all in the way it is said.
Owl
If I half close my eyes and squint I can see an owl shape in the brickwork. I think. Or an eagle. Nice portcullis effect though.
I’m still finding bricked up arches and doorways everywhere I look
Don’t know if I’m getting bored with them or not.
Finally some twisty steps
For the dev I used Rodinal 1+50, 30 secs initial agitation, 3 inversions very minute for 10 mins, then left to stand for the last 2.5 mins. Works OK for a certain look but lots of the shadow details have gone.
