Kites

We came across a kite fair on Blackheath Common. The clouds provided a dramatic backdrop. I only had a green/yellow 060 filter with me, I could have done with the red 090 for the clouds.

I found these big ‘kites’ absolutely hypnotic, moving slowly and lugubriously in the wind, stangely synchronised in their movement.

Something I’ve never seen before (possibly because I know nothing about kites) is kites flying in groups. I have no idea how they avoid getting tangled up in each other, but it was lovely to watch.

The stuff on the ground was interesting too

I really like the shark in this photo, floating in the middle

The fair was there on Sunday too, but speaking to somebody who had visited then, there wasn’t any wind so there weren’t any kites. Ho hum…

All shot with the M6 and ‘Cron 35/2 IV, yellow 060 filter, Tri-X EI320. Developed in HC-110, dilution ‘H’ 1+63, 13 minutes, 30 seconds initial agitation, 3 gentle inversions very minute. Probably could have done with a minute less development.
